Ryan Schuering (piano), 15, hails from Louisville, Kentucky, where he is a tenth grader at Kentucky Country Day School. He began playing piano at the age of three and currently studies with Dr. Vernon Cherrix. Ryan has placed first in several competitions, including the 2019 Kentucky State MTNA Competition (Junior Division), the 2019 David Moore Competition (Middle School Division), and the 2020 Kentucky State MTNA Competition (Senior Division). He placed second in the 2019 Nathaniel Patch Piano Competition (Middle School Division) and was a semifinalist in the 2021 William Knabe International Piano Competition. Ryan takes great pleasure in performing for other people, and his personal experiences with piano have helped him realize the vital role that classical music has in society. While piano is his greatest passion, Ryan also enjoys swimming and cooking.
