Luke Turner (piano), 17, from Birmingham, Alabama, is a senior at Mountain Brook High School. He studies with Dr. Heather Conner at Vanderbilt University’s Blair Academy, where he is a Myra Jackson Blair Scholar. Luke made his concerto debut with the Nashville Symphony as winner of the Curb Concerto Competition. He has received prizes in numerous regional and national competitions, including the 2020 Emory University Young Artist Piano Competition, the 2021 LaGrange Symphony Orchestra Competition, and the 2021 East Carolina University Piano Competition. He is a two-time MTNA National Finalist, placing third in the senior division in 2020. Most recently, he won Grand Prize in the Nashville Philharmonic Concerto Competition and will perform with the orchestra later this year. Outside of piano, Luke enjoys school, playing the cello, and helping his family with technology.
