Reice Hudson (flute), 16, from Louisville, Kentucky, is a sophomore at duPont Manual High School’s Youth Performing Arts School. She began playing flute at the age of 11 and currently studies with Charlotte Roth and Donald Gottlieb. Reice has participated in numerous honor ensembles including the All-State Symphony Orchestra and the University of Louisville Wind Institute ensemble. For the past four years, she has participated as a soloist and ensemble member in multiple programs offered by the Kentucky Music Educators Association. She has performed both flute and piccolo solos, as well as participating in flute choirs. Due to the pandemic, Reice was not able to participate in her high school’s marching band until sophomore year, but in her first year as a member, she was selected to be featured as a soloist in one of their shows. Outside of music, Reice enjoys playing volleyball, traveling, and hiking.
