Veronica performs on Show 434.

Veronica Pavlovic (clarinet), 17, is a senior at Ingraham High School in Seattle, Washington, and a current clarinet student of Emil Khudyev. She has served as principal clarinet of the Seattle Youth Symphony, studied at the Seattle Conservatory of Music, and has attended several music festivals with the aid of scholarships. An avid chamber musician, she enjoys playing in several chamber groups, as well as bass clarinet in her school’s wind ensemble. Veronica has also been a winner of the North Corner Chamber Orchestra and Seattle Youth Symphony concerto competitions.

Veronica is a huge advocate for helping to close the opportunity gap in the arts and provides free music lessons for kids in her neighborhood, organizes community concerts, and has assisted in managing professional concerts. She also studies piano with Jenifer U and serves as a volunteer collaborative pianist for her peers.

Outside of music, Veronica is an International Baccalaureate diploma candidate who leads her school’s feminism and environmental clubs, and also organizes a group of high school volunteers that cleans the houses of the elderly in their neighborhood. She cares deeply about the environment, has conducted environmental research, and has applied her love of learning languages to connect with students from around the world to solve environmental issues. In the future, Veronica would like to pursue clarinet performance and environmental engineering.

Receiving the Award will allow Veronica to purchase two high-quality clarinets that she will need for college and her professional career. The scholarship funds will also aid in covering the cost of private lessons and college audition travel needs.
