André Peck (piano), 14, from La Crosse, Wisconsin, began studying the piano at the age of four and is currently a student of the internationally recognized Artist/Teacher, Dr. Joseph Zins of Crocus Hill Studios, St. Paul, Minnesota.
At the age of 11, as a winner of the Concerto Competition of the Piano Texas International Festival & Academy, André made his orchestral debut with the Fort Worth Symphony conducted by Miguel Harth-Bedoya. He was one of just 24 selected from all over the world to attend the academy in the Junior Category (17 and under). In June of 2022, André was once again selected for the Festival, and for the second year in a row, he was a winner of the Concerto Competition and performed with the Las Colinas Symphony Orchestra conducted by Geoffrey Simon. André has performed in the Master Classes of such international luminaries as Tamás Ungár, Asaf Zohar, Pascal Nemirovsky, Andrey Ponochevny, Igor Resnianski, Yoheved Kaplinsky, Mikhail Voskresensky, Gabriel Kwok and John Owings. In February of 2023, André was named winner of the Minneapolis Music Teachers Forum (MMTF) Mozart Concerto Competition, which resulted in a performance of the second and third movements of Mozart’s Concerto No. 21 in C Major with the Kenwood Symphony Orchestra of Minneapolis.
André has performed numerous solo recitals at Sundin Music Hall, Hamline University, St. Paul. Most recently, he performed a solo recital on the Frances Cohler Coffee Concerts Series at William Abbott Concert Hall, University of Wisconsin, River Falls. Notably, last June, he presented a massive benefit concert for the Logan High School Band, raising more than 2,500 dollars for instrument purchases.
André’s passions, in addition to piano, include sports, mathematics, cubing, chess, and friends. His interest in giving back to his community utilizing his pianistic gifts includes organizing Kid-Helping-Kids concerts for the La Crosse Children’s Museum and the Memorial Pool. The spirit of philanthropy was instilled by his parents, Chris Peck and Chau Nguyen. He is currently a freshman at Logan High School and is also enrolled in Calculus III at the University of Wisconsin, La Crosse.
