Emma Spence (cello), 12, lives in Los Altos, California and is a sixth grader at Le Lycee Francais de San Francisco. She studies cello with Jonathan Koh. Emma performs with Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra, and was selected as the winner of its concerto competition during her first year in the orchestra. Emma loves playing music at home with her family. She likes reading and writing fiction, musical theater, and studying philosophy.
