David Popper’s Polonaise is a classic piece in the cello repertoire. But today’s rendition is quite special.
For today’s Daily Joy, this cello quartet of two FTT alums and friends is sharing a stunning rendition of the Popper’s work, arranged for cello quartet by Sebastiaan van Eck.

Sydney Lee (cello), 15, lives in Oakland, New Jersey and attends Valley Middle School. She is a student at Juilliard Pre-College, where she studies with Minhye Clara Kim. Sydney is a member of the World Youth Alliance Chamber Orchestra and the Juilliard Pre-College Symphony. Sydney has attended Meadowmount School of Music and the international MusicAlp festival in Courchevel, France. In her free time, Sydney is active in her church youth group and enjoys shopping, hanging out with friends, and traveling.
Lincolnshire, Illinois Haddon will perform with Trio Keluvaina February 1, 2018, on Show 348 in Chicago, Illinois.
Show 348 Bio:
Haddon Kay (cello), 18, is a senior at Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, Illinois. He previously performed with Piano Trio Royale on From the Top Show 315 in Naples, Florida. He studies cello with Hans Jensen and is the principal cellist of the Midwest Young Artist Conservatory Symphony Orchestra. He was the strings winner of the Walgreens Concerto Competition and a finalist in the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Young Artists Competition. Outside of music, he loves playing volleyball with his school’s varsity and club teams.
