Kayla Nelson (horn), 17, is from Kansas City, Missouri, and studies with David Sullivan of the Kansas City Symphony. She is the 2024 winner of the Northland Symphony Orchestra’s Young Artist Competition and is looking forward to her featured solo performance in the Fall of 2024. She has attended summer music festivals at Interlochen Arts Academy and Luzerne Music Center. Kayla plans to major in horn performance in college, aspiring to perform professionally in a major symphony orchestra.
Outside of music, she enjoys being outdoors, going to the gym, and hanging out with friends.
