Dynamic New Work From Young Composer

Brannon Warn-Johnston, 16, from Burien, Washington, is an enthusiastic composer and multi-instrumentalist. In her new work, A Year with Cancer, she uses music to illustrate her personal journey with the illness. This dynamic piece for violin and prerecorded sounds, performed by Seattle Symphony violinist Ilana Zaks, vividly captures the highs, lows, and hope found in Brannon’s experience.

This performance is part of From the Top’s Musicians with Disabilities Celebration. Since 2023, From the Top has given young musicians with disabilities a platform to share their stories and artistry during the month of March and beyond.
