Incredible Marimba Performance

16-year-old percussionist Kevin Reyes has been “drumming on things” since the age of 5.

He performs a dynamic piece for marimba that was inspired by Astor Piazzolla.

Kevin Reyes (marimba), 16, hails from Chicago, Illinois, where he is a junior at the Chicago Military Academy at Bronzeville. He studies percussion through the Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s Percussion Scholarship Program and the Chicago Musical Pathways Initiative. His teachers are Douglas Waddell and Patricia Dash. Kevin is proud to have participated in the National Youth Orchestra(NYO2) this past summer. Outside of music, Kevin enjoys exercising and playing sports, especially soccer and volleyball.
