Colin appeared on Show 380 in Portland, Maine on November 20, 2019.
Colin Aponte (violin), 15, from Blue Hill, Maine is a sophomore at John Bapst Memorial High School. He studies violin with Dr. Anatole Wieck and is the concertmaster of the Bangor Symphony Youth Orchestra. He toured with the 2019 National Youth Orchestra (NYO2), a program of Carnegie Hall. In 2018, he had the opportunity to perform Vivaldi’s Concerto for Four Violins in B Minor with Midori, his brother Brandon (also a From the Top alum), and the Bangor Youth Symphony Orchestra. In addition to music, Colin is an active member of his high school and YMCA swim teams, and enjoys hover-boarding and juggling.
Music has the unique ability to bring joy to our lives – especially in the hands of young people. Daily Joy is a reminder of music’s power to uplift, inspire, and unite.
Daily Joy is a project of From the Top. It began in the very early days of the Covid-19 pandemic and continues today to offer a much-needed respite from the anxiety and worry that we encounter in the world.
