Grace Novacheck (piano), 16, is a Native American teenager living in Westlake, Texas, where she attends Westlake Academy. She studies piano with Bret Serrin at the Suzuki Music Institute of Dallas.
In addition to being an accomplished musician, Grace is a disability advocate and a social media influencer. Grace was born with a rare genetic disorder called Escobar Syndrome, which affects her joints and muscles, making them excessively tight and stiff, prohibiting normal function and range of motion. As a disability advocate, she uses her social media platform to share her story and raise awareness and educate people about differences. She has over 104,0000 followers on TikTok and her videos have been viewed over 20 million times.
Grace performed at a 2022 benefit event for myFace, a non-profit organization dedicated to children and adults with facial differences. In 2021, Grace performed for former Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice. In 2020, Grace was recognized at the First Annual Danny Awards in New York, sponsored by the Daniel Foundation, a non-profit organization founded in 2006 to empower individuals with developmental and physical disabilities through music. She was also invited to perform at the event. She has also performed at the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital and in assisted living and rehabilitation settings.
Grace has a strong Christian Faith. She enjoys sharing her musicality with others. She also plays tennis, volleyball, and cello. She has walked the runway for fashion shows and been featured in news stories across the US. She loves spending time with family and friends and is very much a social butterfly who lights up any room she’s in. Grace enjoys traveling, sports, driving and proving to the world she is more than her physical disability!
